Working Together
Beginning therapy can feel like a big step.
You may already know what's bringing you here, or you may simply have a sense that something isn't quite right. Perhaps you've been feeling overwhelmed for some time, finding it harder to cope with the pressures of everyday life, or wondering why you keep responding to situations in ways you don't fully understand.
Whatever has brought you here, you don't need to have all the answers before you get in touch.
Therapy offers a calm, confidential space where we can slow things down together, make sense of what's been weighing you down and explore a way forward that feels right for you.
Who I Work With
I work with adults and young people aged 13 and over.
Many of the people I support have spent years being the strong one for everyone else. They're the dependable friend, the supportive partner, the caring parent or the person everyone turns to in a crisis. Over time, constantly putting other people's needs first can leave you feeling emotionally exhausted, disconnected from yourself and unsure of what you need anymore.
Others come because they're experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, emotional neglect, ADHD, burnout, family conflict or the impact of significant life changes.
Whatever has brought you here, we'll begin with your story, not a diagnosis or a label.
What Working Together Looks Like
Therapy isn't something that's done to you—it's something we do together.
We'll spend time exploring what's happening in your life, making sense of your experiences and understanding the patterns that may be affecting your wellbeing. Some sessions may involve reflecting on past experiences and how they continue to influence the present. Others may focus on developing practical ways of coping with current challenges or simply giving yourself permission to pause and reflect.
There is no set agenda and no expectation that you'll arrive knowing exactly what to say. We'll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, regularly checking in about how therapy is feeling, what's helping and whether there's anything you'd like us to do differently.
My hope is that, over time, therapy becomes a place where you feel genuinely heard, accepted and understood as well as a space where you can reconnect with yourself and discover new ways of moving forward.
A Space Designed With Your Comfort in Mind
Sessions take place in my private garden therapy room. It's a quiet, welcoming space created to help you feel as comfortable and at ease as possible.
I know that walking into somewhere unfamiliar can sometimes feel like the hardest part of starting therapy. I hope that seeing the room beforehand helps you picture where we'll meet and makes those first steps feel just a little easier.

Taking the First Step
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and it's completely understandable if you're feeling a little uncertain.
You don't need to prepare anything beforehand, and you certainly don't need to have everything figured out before we meet.
If you'd like to talk things through before deciding whether counselling feels right for you, I offer a free 15-minute introductory phone call. It's a relaxed opportunity for us to discuss what's brought you here, answer any questions you may have and see whether working together feels like the right fit.
There is absolutely no obligation to book a session afterwards.
